Its a good mall with lots of stores and places to eat around it. There is a neat train ride inside to entertain kids of any age( 1 to 100). There is also a movie theater here that has great seating( the seats recline a bit).
There's a nice new theater. Management changed sometime around 2016/2017. Hoping that they can turn it around. Plenty of morning walkers. If you're interested in a particular type of store, check if it's still there.
As malls go, this one is weak.
I hate seeing the mall in such a state. So few stores. Historically, it is neat to visit but there seems to be little left from the decade ago when I once roamed it visiting stores like Walden's and eating at places like Damon's. Still, it is one of the few malls I know of that are still around.
River Valley Mall outstanding Elder-Beerman's store, & Dick's Sporting Goods wonderful selections...Loved the CineMark theaters...Great food at Asian Max, & loved the Pier 1 Imports store, too...
There are still a couple anchor stores, but the rent is too high for local businesses, and the financially stable stores have built around it.
They don't seem to be able to keep tenants in this mall. It is very empty. The remodel that was done looks very nice. It is still empty, though. Many of the former tenants say that they found much better leases other places. There isn't enough traffic for stores to stay afloat. The only thing decent left is the movie theater.
